Didn't know if anyone has seen this, but it will be a prequel to The Wizard of Oz and will tell how the Wizard arrived in Oz and how he became the ruler. James Franco and Mila Kunis, directed by Sam Raimi.

LINK

I also read somewhere where they are thinking of actually remaking The Wizard of Oz.

Not going to watch it.

Not going to watch it.

Some things just need to be left alone.

Fourthed, but Raimi is pretty legit.

There are a good many Oz books. I'm surprised its taken this long to start making other movies.

I thought Wicked was the prequel.

My little bro killed it in TWOO last weekend as the Mayor of Munchkinland

I tend to agree that Wizard of Oz needs to be left alone, but I would definetly see a remake just out of curiosity

I hope it synchs up with DSOTM. If so, then it will be good.

I read all of the Oz books as a kid.

Return to Oz at least incorporated aspects of several of the Oz books into one movie. A prequel involving the Wizard doesn't seem to reflect anything that I've read in the L. Frank Baum series.

I believe that he was the initial actor approached for the role but either turned it down or had other commitments.

Creepy as frick.

Wasn't that the one with Veruca Salt (from Willy Wonka) and those creepy arse dudes with wheels for hands/feet?

And TWoO is one of those I can't believe hasn't been remade (at least well) yet. I'd be interested to see what someone could do with it, as long as it's not Tim Burton.

They should just do a movie of Wicked and leave it at that.
