Give me a break down. What brands do you like or have had success with?

Looking to buy a new one soon and wanted to here some of your experiences, but not looking to spend over 250.

I've got an Echo...runs like a champ.

Be sure to run the bastard out of gas if you will not use it for a few weeks...Ethanol really fouls the engine up if you leave it sit

Stihl or echo.

I've never heard of a 4 stroke weedeater

Sounds like it would be horrible. Too heavy.

I paid about $200 for a small stihl chainsaw, which I am asumming costs roughly the same as a weedeater

Which retailer carry them? I just moved to some crappy town in South Texas and it is a 30 minute drive to anywhere. Just curious so I don't have to spend a day searching for them.

I have a stihl....had it for about 8 yrs now and just broke the spool holder this weekend. Pretty good useage out of it.

PS - I hate all weedeaters though!

I have a 2-stroke straight shaft husqvarna that i bought at lowe's for about $170. Runs great even after sitting up all winter. Had it for about 4 years now.

Me too. I round-up as much as I can, but I need a weedeater for edging and the normal things you can't kill.

I have one, and even after some shop work, it's a PITA to start.
