ok, I assume I've chosen the wrong board for this, but since I'm looking for the normal person's opinion here I kept it away from the 'tards, who obviously have so much knowledge I wouldn't understand their answers. So here's the scenario, you're a baseball coach and your team can either have great pitching, or great hitting, but not both. Which way would you go?

Always great pitching, then all you have to do is a little small ball to win.

If you luck into the playoffs without great hitting, great pitching can carry you the the championship (the giants).

this for sure.

If you can hold a team to under 3 runs or so a game you can find a way to win a ton of games even if you hitting is shitty.

The Rice Owls are living proof that this works.

htting a fastball is the hardest thing to do in Sport, thus better pitching. Pitchers have a slew of pitches against the batter who must look for the smallest clue as to what the pitcher is going to pitch.
