This is my first year playing fantasy baseball and was just wondering how early and often to take a pitcher.

How important? Generally not very. But if your league is full of fantasy vets who take a hitting approach to the draft, sometimes it's helpful to go after pitchers. zig when the rest of the league zags. Worked for me n DAT last year.

Pretty much the most important thing in fantasy baseball. You have to build around that staff - bats really come second in importance.
