GG,
Here's the cole slaw recipe I promised yesterday. It's really a broccoli slaw, but I've made it with cabbage as well. Both are good. The dressing is slightly sweet. I had it as a side to gumbo at a party and it was a big hit.
2 - 12 oz packages of broccoli or cole slaw mix
1 cup mayo (Hellman's recommended0
1/2 cup sugar
2 TBS cider vinegar
1 small red onion, chopped
1/2 cup dried cranberries
4 slices bacon, cooked crisp and chopped (I added a bit more)
1/2 cup toasted chopped pecans (I added more)
Rinse slaw mix with cold water and drain well. Stir together mayo, sugar and vinegar in a large bowl. Add slaw, onions, cranberries - toss gently to coat. Cover and chill 8 hours. Sprinkle with bacon and pecans just before serving. (Serves 6-8). I also add black pepper and a dash of salt.

this is a really good slaw recipe I think and I love to add the tiny 100 count shrimp in it as well

If you want to try something a little different use your favorite BBQ sauce instead of mayonaise and toast the pecans or walnuts in your favorite spice mixture. Also mix in dried cranberries. I know it's no longer coleslaw with these ingredients but it makes for a tasty colslaw salad.

I've made something pretty much exactly like this but added sliced red grapes. I like it with broccoli. Very tasty.

GB, haven't been on. Glad you bumped. I wouldn't have wanted to miss this recipe. Thanks so much!
Jabberwocky, I'd love your recipe as well. Thanks.
