I have been pondering this for awhile now..and as many games that are coming out this year, especially in november, it would be rather expensive to buy all these..i have looked at the gamefly account, and to have one disk out it is 7.95 for the first month, 11.95 a month after..Second option is two disks out is 11.95 first month, 22.95 there after..

option 1 is about $140 bucks a year..
option 2 is about $265 backs a year..

Your feedback would be appreciated..it just seems to me that option 2 is alittle price-ie to me..

The only way I see Gamefly being worth it would be if you don't play online much. For me, there are usually only 2 or 3 great online games that come out, and I play them all year. Gamefly wouldn't really help me there. Then there are usually one or two offline games that I play off and on year round. Gamefly is good for playing a lot of short single-player games. I don't play a lot of these, and even if I did, it would have to be a significant number to make Gamefly worth it.

Also, I don't believe you can get new games right away with Gamefly, usually, and it can take several days or more to ship your game and receive another one.

I actually do like gamefly. I tend to like to play some single player games which it is really useful for as dodger said. I do not rent the ones that I want for multi player though. Those I actually buy for the long term.

I am doing the 1 disc at a time. 2 is too much money and you would have one sitting around while you play the other game.

They also have some awesome used game deals ($15 or so for some good games).

All in all, it isn't a perfect service, as you sometimes have to wait for games you really want to play, but they are not in. This isn't netflix where they always seem to be able to ship what you want the next day. I do enjoy it for being able to play a bunch of different games without blockbuster or missing out of them all together.

Just to give you an example, the games I have in my Q are Bulletstorm, Dead Space 2 etc.

They ship new releases a day before release date so the most I have ever waited was 2 days. Every single new release has worked this way. Also, I have never had to wait for a new release because they were out FWIW.

You are right about it not being worth it if you spend a large amount of time playing games. Recently there have been a ton a games that I would only keep for a short amount of time so gamefly was economical.

Hell, just do the 1 disc one for a month. See if you like it. Not hurting for money are ya?

i got rid of it. I beat a couple of games, but the longer ones i was just holding on way too long. If you arent constantly changin games i didnt feel like it was worth it. I felt more pressured to beat the game as quick as i could instead of enjoying it.

Plus i like to mix in some sports games and some zombies so im not always just playing one game start to finish. i say its up to you. especially if you mow through games or dont really own any.

Oh and i have gt5, damn its hard playing all my games.

ok, first, it's 16 bucks a month for 1 disc and 22 bucks for 2 discs. second, i love it. imagine this, there's gonna be 8 to 10 games come out this year. majority of them will be single player(only part worth playing). 60(price) x 10(# of games) is 600 dollars or 16(price) x 12(months) is 192 dollars(for unlimited games). it just depends on whether or not you want to beat the game or not. me, all i do is work and play games and occasionally take a girl out. sad, i know, but women are crazy, and my ps3 won't get emotional when i call it a stupid bitch.

Well it would be less than $600 if you sell back your games, but you would still be making out.

I play and beat at least 10 games a year so gamefly is great for me.

Agreed. This isn't a service that I feel bad about paying for. Like i said though, you gotta like to play single player games to get full use out of it. I plan on playing through games like Alan Wake, Dead Space 2, Bulletstorm and all since they are specifically single player focused.

The one thing that pisses me off is when they don't have a game to ship out right away.

If you play a lot of single player, offline games then yes.

If you play a lot of online games, then no.

try it. Personally I didn't like it but there are many people who do. Seemed like all the big titles were never available when I wanted them.

^^^, this is true, but i found that if you put it in your queue around the time that its ANNOUNCED, you have a better chance of getting it first.

this was biggest frustration for me but i'm in BR. maybe games got to columbus faster. and i want to say our shipping center was actually austin so it might work out ok for you. but i was on the one game plan. i would send in a game on a monday. they wouldn't receive it in most cases till thurs or fri. they might take a couple of days to ship another title it would take another three days or so to get a game. so if i played like 3 games a month, i spent half the month without a game.

that's why i dropped it.

The only reason i could see to get the 2 discs at a time thing. I just started my account back up and it took 3 days for them to ship a game off of my 8 game list. Assassins creed brotherhood on its way.

Gamefly is totally worth it to me. Gives me a chance to play a ton if games I wouldn't normally get to play otherwise. Even if I only rent one game per month, I still come out ahead compared to buying a new game at $60 a pop. Once I complete a game, I usually don't back to it again anyway. For my gaming habits, Gamefly beats buying then reselling games.

Some other tips about Gamefly:

There is a keep-it option. So if you really like a game you can buy it when you have it out as a rental (you get discounted pricing based upon how long you've been a Gamefly member).

I fluctuate between a 1 game & 2 game plan based upon how busy I am. You can upgrade at any time, and downgrade again at the end of each billing cycle.

Single player versus multiplayer has zero input in the equation as far as I'm concerned...

Then your obviously not much of an online guy. Most of the games I have that I play online, I play year round. Gamefly is not much help there. If you play a lot of single player games, Gamefly will save you a lot money because replay value is not as high for single player games, and you end up playing a lot more of them.

i tend to focus on one game, sometimes obsessively, or that's what my wife says anyway. So it would be a waste for me.
