Trying to remember the title of a movie I saw long ago.
It was based on a true story about a black professional arrested and charged with a serious crime.
I think he was an architect.
He was innocent and had no priors, but was railroaded through the courts.
His co-workers stood behind him and paid for lawyers, etc., even to the point that they had bumper stickers made that said "Free x?x?".
Can't even remember the name of the actor.

One thing that stands out in my memory was the redneck detective on the stand being questioned about his opinion of the suspect and his response was "It'd be baayed".

Help anyone.

The only thing I can think of that is close is The Hurricane. Although it could be Caddy shack II.

No. Sorry.
Just driving me crazy that I can't think of the name of the movie or anyone in it.

I think I had to watch it for part of a CJ class in college.
Probably a made-for-TV movie.
