Warner Brothers has hired some writers to rewrite The Bodyguard for a potential remake.

quote:

In the new film, the bodyguard will be an Iraqi war vet who has to deal with the ability of social media and celebrity journalism to make the life of a celebrity more public than ever. The female role, which was played by Whitney Houston in the original, is being eyed as a starring vehicle for a “young female singer with global appeal.”

So Rihanna will more than likely be the new singer. Who do you see as the new Bodyguard?

I'm all but sure they'd go after Rihanna. She has that mass appeal, she's absolutely gorgeous, and even though I don't particularly care for her music, the girl has a great singing voice.

O dear lord. Rihanna can't sing for jack. She has some amazing legs. But it's pretty widely known she has a terrible voice. Listening to her live makes your ears want to bleed.

Call me crazy, but I doubt she'll do any live singing during the movie. She wasn't great at the ASG, but it doesn't change the fact that the girl has a beautiful voice even though her music is massive suckage - I'd hang out under her umbrella though

I thought Rihanna looked amazing when she first came out and now she looks so generic after a Hollywood type makeover

Just to make it retarded and cheesy as possible, I say use that Channing Tatum guy as the bodyguard. He's a horrible actor.

Agreed.

Beyonce = WAY more global appeal than Rhianna.

the only way this is even remotely entertaining is if gaga was the signer.

Need to freak the story up a bit

I think Jennifer Hudson would be a better option for the singer (If she has to be an African American...)

She has slimmed down a lot since the Dreamgirl days and I think she can sing better than Rihanna and Beyonce. It depends on what kinda movie you want to make and if you want the soundtrack to be Pop heavy or power ballads like Whitney's version.

For the Bodyguard I'd go with Channing Tatum...
