And Dandy also said that LSU currently doesn't have 1 SEC caliber offensive lineman (ready to play).

"All-SEC" is not the same thing as SEC caliber

I don't agree with DD. He will push for PT as a frosh. I think he would start if he were on campus for Spring.

Having that luxury is a great thing. It would be hard for a true freshman to make an immediate impact on OL without being an early enrollee

Has DD been hating on LSU lately? He must be watching too much ESPN.

To correct it, he said LSU doesn't have 1 All-SEC caliber offensive lineman.

I used to read DDs page, but then it hit me, it was listening to my mom tell me about football. He really doesn't know shite, when you look at what he says. For instance he says that a LT has to be over 320.... Well most are closer to 280 than 320.

not sure why people give DD any attention or whatever, he's just like any other ranter but he has a website and more gold in his heart than anyone out there.

Can Dandy see into the future? Obviously he can, maybe he can tell us how LSU is going to do next year. What if La'El comes in during the summer, and has a lights out summer and wins the right tackle spot at least? No one knows how he is going to do when he gets on campus

Collins will probably play against NW State but after that a decision will have to be made and barring any injuries he very well could rs but even if he plays as a backup you might as well play him because if he's as good and projects out he's leaving after 3 years

Actually, he said

I do not see any All-SEC type offensive linemen on the team for the 2011 season.

Big difference.

I'm completely ok with that. A lot of people disagree with me, but it's always better to be able to redshirt lineman. And almost all lineman redshirt, unless they HAVE to play. For example Joseph Barksdale had to play because C. Stewart was so bad. I like that we have options in Washington, Dworaczyk, Faulk and Hurst.

IMHO, I think the OL will look like this:

LT: Chris Faulk/Evan Washington
LG: Josh Dworaczyk/Evan Washington
C: P.J. Lonergan/T-Bob
RG: Will Blackwell/Josh Williford
RT: Alex Hurst

Yes he can....done all the time...all the sudden he gets an ankle injury and they have to "medically" redshirt him...I think you can do that up to the 2nd game..

If he plays one single play he losses his redshirt. If he is injured then he has to wait until his eligibility runs out and has to ask the NCAA for a medical reshirt which isn't always granted. Blackwell got hurt on the first series last year and missed the year. It is likely he will get a medical redshirt, but we won't know until after his remaining eligibility runs out.
