Refering to LSU's Gold as Yellow

is it the cool thing to do now to refer to our Gold as Yellow?
fck tradition, right...let's call it what it REALLY is?
Multiple versions of the color gold do exist.
what's the big deal, right...you're just calling it like you see it, huh.
Purple and Yellow it is!
can we at least call it Yelleaux?
LSU's official colors are Purple and Gold.

for those of you that refer to LSU's gold as yellow, youre right up there with those that refer to runs as points and extra points as field goals .

Someone prolly knows more about this than me, but.....I understand that the 'gold' on the uniform was changed some years ago to the more yellow color that we know and love today.
Apparently early color televisions did not display the 'original' gold color very well and the color was tweaked.

I've never referred to LSU as being in purple and yellow. I don't know of anyone who has.
However, let's not fool ourselves. It really is canary yellow.
LSU's colors were altered in the 1950's. Earlier LSU did use gold which was a darker duller color. It looked similar to Notre Dame's gold color.
The problem with this duller color is that when LSU players sweated, it turned the uniforms brown. So, the Coach had the color changed to the canary yellow that we see today.
However, let's not fool ourselves. It really is canary yellow.
