everyone thinks fincher will win. I went with hooper because he won the DGA. I think in the last like 30 years, the DGA winner didn't win the oscar maybe 3 times.. The last 8 or so years, the DGA winner won.

Also, the king's speech is gonna win big, and sometimes that helps propel other nominees from the same movie into the winner's spot. I think The king's speech winning big will help cement hooper as the winner. This may be the year that falls in that 10%, but I just don't feel confident it will.

Melissa Leo is getting a lot of buzz also. I haven't seen the fighter, but I have seen true grit. I'm kind of torn, I think she may have a better shot given her age as well. This one might come down to how I feel right before I turn in my ballot haha.

Updates, but I'm still worried about best supporting actor and actress, and best director, but not enough to switch them up.

Best Original Score:
social network

Best Documentary:
Inside Job

Best Documentary (short subject):
Killing in the name

Best Short Film (live action):
Na Wewe

these are locks:

Bale - best supporting actor
Leo - best supporting actress
Firth - best actor
Portman - best actress
Fincher - best director

Best Picture is gonna come down to two:

Social Network vs. King's Speech

Social Network has been winning best picture at nearly all of the awards shows, but I think The King's Speech will get it at the Oscars.

i liked the king's speech but it's really just an oscar bait film. the social network was brilliant and the king's speech wasn't that spectactular.
