not sure if it means deron agreed to an extension with nets or not. He still could be an UFA.

This has to be good news for CP3 right? NJ gets Deron, NY won't have the cap space for CP3 without Melo/Amare restructuring to take less. Not to mention the Western Conference just got even weaker.

Knicks have no cap space or trade assets to go after CP3. Assuming DWill stays with Nets and they can bring in more pieces the East will be stacked and less attractive to CP3. This actually reduces the options CP3 has for leaving.

If winning with a max deal are what matters to CP3 the only threats I see are the Clippers IF they got a new owner and a team like Dallas that could be ready to blow it up and MIGHT have enough assets to go after a CP3/Dwight package.

Yeah the East gets stronger, and a big market team has no need for CP3. Great for us, actually.

But it IS another big market swallowing up a star from a smaller market team.

That sucks for New Orleans.

Now it's not a matter of if Chris Paul will be a Knick/Laker/Maverick/Magic, but when.

exactly why I hate this move. Also, Deron got one of the most respected coaches in the league to quit, then he bails on the team.

So D-Will forces Sloan out and then leaves a couple of weeks later. That's gangsta.

Knicks-No SC room(I still don't get how everyone just keeps ignoring this)

Lakers-Maybe

Mavericks-why would the Mavs want a PG on the downslide to be their best player

Magic-Small market, who knows if they'll even keep their guy

Wow. I'm pretty stunned. Definitely didn't see this coming, but then again, I haven't really been following the rumor mill closely.
