Anybody investing in this currency? With the current oil situation it seems like a good idea to invest in a currency that is backed by oil. Thought?

Instead of investing in a dicey currency with an enormous spread, why not just, oh, buy oil???

I made quite a bit off the Dinar but lost it all at the craps table at Casino Rouge.

It's been a while, but there have probably been 6 or 7 threads like yours on here.

It's gotten to be an inside joke for this board.

Every redneck I know is using the Dinar as their means of retirement. That alone is enough information for me.

My sister works with a nurse who has seriously been liquidating assets to buy more dinars. Apparently she's tied it to some kind of end of America scenario, whereby I guess she believes Iraq would be some great benefactor of such, and she'd somehow have rights with respect to her dinars. She's nearly lost her job due to devoting too much time to encouraging her fellow employees to do the same.

There was someone else 2-3 weeks ago who posted that he thought shorting the Egyptian currency would be a great idea. I just checked Bloomberg and it is quoted exactly where it was back then.

This isn't surprising given that the Egyptian central bank deliberately pegs to the dollar, but he apparently hadn't thought of that, he was apparently just going on a hunch.

You're correct.

The proper MT portfolio will be allocated as follows:

Gold - 33.3%
Dinar - 33.3%
MVIS - 33.3%
AAPL - 276%
