So the wife wants to switch from Cox to Uverse because it's cheaper. I was just wondering if anybody has it or knows anything about it. TIA

I have never used Cox, but I have had U-Verse twice now and I love it. I'm told the only thing that compares to U-Verse is Verizon Fios.

I switched from cox last year. The internet speeds are lower that cox on the upload side (still plenty fast enough) but I haven't noticed any functionality drop.

I pay less and instead of just HBO with Cox I get every movie channel with ATT.

One small loss is you can't rewind live TV on every TV, only the one the DVR is hooked up to.

The only big loss is CST (cox sports tv). You miss hornets games, LSU football replays and lsu baseball games. I miss these but not enough to trade out the rest of the service.

Also the systems operational capacity is much better. Big DVR, easy to change rooms, able to record more items at once, quicker to respond, easier to navigate, etc.

I love it and was sick of only having one protected option in the NO metro area. I will never go back to cox.

This is what I was fixing to ask. This is the reason I haven't switched to Direct. We watch CST a lot between baseball games and football replays.

ATT is working on a deal to acquire CST programming through an FoxSportsNetwork deal

FWIW, I had a friend that switched to Uverse when it first came in. He bragged about it for like 2 weeks. Within the past month, he's started trying to switch out because after those 2 weeks he started having problems with his service (many different issues such as blurry picture, not getting some channels, etc.) and they never fixed it. They said he needed a bridge or some such nonsense but no matter what they did, they couldn't fix it.

To top it off, they sent out a notice saying that the rate was increasing. So my friend is/has switched back to Cox to get reliable service.

I'm fine with our Cox service.

Uverse is better than any cable provider I have seen. Even the interface (guide, recorded shows, menus, etc.) actually looks like modern technology and not something designed for the atari like cox and comcast. Also, I have never had a problem with anything. For internet, I pay for 6 mb and speed tests always come back between 5.8 and 5.9

we have direct tv and the menu nav is slow as hell on the hd tv. On the regular box it goes as you click but the big tv has a lag.

Bridging a router, when on the phone with tech support, doesnt usually take very long to do.

Anything with the word ATT in the title has terrible tech/customer service support. Even if it is 20% cheaper, I would never switch if I had to deal with calling ATT for problems.

All they do is transfer you back and forth from tech support, to billing, to DSL tech support, to phone tech support, to customer service. They are a freaking joke.

Here is a nice link of complaints about ATT U-verse LINK

Just saw a facebook page about ATT Uverse Sucking LINK
