State of LSU basketball....

Apathy. We lose our ninth in a row in a game that I will classify as boring as hell and there are more thread on the front page about Kelvin Sheppard than the basketball team.
Maybe this program will get better next year but right now this is a very unathletic team with now real chance of having success.
I bleed purple and gold but watching the product on the court tonight made my head hurt.

while we are having a terrible year, we hung with the SEC west leader. Most will say its not that impressive, but i feel like this is an improvement. Alabama has some experienced players while LSU is very young. While i hate to use excuses, our youth showed tonight in that when we would get close, we could close it out and take the lead. That all comes with experience. Flame me all you want but i do think this team is headed in the right direction. Minus the last minute, LSU showed up pretty well on ESPN.

I was proud of the players how they tried very hard.
I was disappointed with the coaching. Bama is a team that does NOT shoot threes and LSU was in a man to man letting Bama shoot in the lane and drive all night. Does Trent have any zone knowledge at all. Back up in a zone and stop the drives....stop the in the lane shooting....stop the offensive rebounds...block out...where was the coaching ?.........I felt real bad for the players. They really tried hard, but when you got a dumb arse coach it's hard to win.........

First, that's not very impressive. Second, I don't know if we ever hang with anyone. It always seems like we either get blown out or other teams just let us hang around and then beat us by five or six points at the end and go home.
This team sucks for sure, but somebody has to step up at the end of the game and say we aren't going to lose these close games. And even though White had a good game tonight, it doesn't look like we are getting any better. I don't know if we have given up, if we are just that bad or what, but it's hard to watch.

I saw some signs of life and good things out of this team last night. They are very young and make some stupid mistakes, but they didn't quit! Good effort.

Those guys played there arse off last night.
They just don't have the talent/experience right now.
We had opportunities in the game. We just missed a few easy shots late in the game. Specifically 2 right at the rim, 1 by White, 1 by Green.

also true but keep in mind bama had an 88rpi....they are a bubble team the sec absolutely sucks in bball and we arent competitive. Worst team i have seen LSU have.
