I'm hosting a foodie shower for my niece and her fiance. I need a theme for the food. She's not a big fan of Mexican, so that's out. Anybody got any hot ideas?

Are you doing a meal or pick up/cocktail food?

What about a stock the bar theme? The foods could either be have names related to alcohol or actually contain alcohol?

You do a play off of fortunes and play up the Asian food..Give away fortune cookies at the end.

What kind of food do they like?

Theme should be "Just Girls" because none of the guys really want to be there anyway!

Actually, it's gonna be small, mostly family, and the guys are bigger kitchen freaks than the girls for the most part.

We're not sure if we want to do a meal or hors de ouerves.

unless there is a sporting event going on and they don't have to sit there with plates on their laps and ooh and ahh over stuff (even good stuff), trust me, they won't be excited about it.

Are the gifts to coincide with the food theme? Just wondering.

Can't say that I have much experience with showers, though I'm always up for talking about food at parties. I'm pretty anti-shower, at least those in the middle of my weekend afternoon. I will do almost anything to get out of them. I can handle a cocktail party night shower. That's just a fun food party with gifts. I have a good feeling that any party GB gives will be a lot of fun.
