I admit to not knowing much about Coach Johnson's assistants, but could the lack of improvement of the inside game be a shortcoming of the one-on-one coaching of the assistants? Seems like the same shortcomings and mistakes under the basket continue game after game. LSU seems to live and die by the outside game. Talent aside, there should be signs of improvement, don't ya'll think?

Has there been any rumblngs of replacing any of the coaches. It is my understanding they all played for Johnson. Is that oorrect? Loyalty can only go so far. Surely Trent feels the heat.

I gotta say WTF on that to. Big guy from Rice who supposedly played a long time in the NBA and yet our bigs seem to have no clue as to how to play post basketball on offense or defense.

They don't establish good position on offense and simply foul on defense.

And the old dude was supposedly an advisor at Pete Newell's big man camps.

Certainly the talent is painfully lacking and it's tough to polish a turd as the saying goes, but signs of teaching are too few for my taste.

Maybe we'll see it with O'Bryant and Hamilton. Man, I hope so.

This has only been speculated a bit on the Rant, and Dandy Don also thought it was a good idea to take a serious look at hiring a much more experienced assistant with a bigger name who has a thicker resume & better recruiting ability than the two current assistants. Trent would be well advised to bring in at least one new assistant--not to do so would to me, be about like admitting he is satisfied with the status quo.

LSU's a football school. Alleva can get away with giving him another year or two.

Seems like once the ball goes inside, a giant black hole sucks it up and the ball never gets kicked back out. They seem to force a shot no matter what.

Without question Sneaux. If Green, White or Storm get the ball it's going up, often forced. And White simply has trouble holding onto the ball and when he does it's usually a fall-away cause he doesn't establish position low enough.

Few pump fakes, drop steps or up and unders or much if anything that indicates work on such things.

Yeah, it's like a bunch of Tyrone Black's except Tyrone could shoot.

Everyone knows how "young" we are on the court, but I have yet to see someone take a leadership role.Someone needs to step up and get an "in your face" attitude. Just because you fall behind doesn't mean it is the end of the world. Basketball is a game of responding to runs by the other team. Don't wimp out!

Watching Coach Johnson on the bench reminds me of the movie "Groundhog Day". He is watching the same trainwreck, in slow motion, over and over.

what the assistants lack in Xs and Os and fundamental knowledge, they more than make up for by not being able to recruit at all

You're telling me Trent has Assistant Coaches?Jeez after watching this pitiful basketball team, I really thought they were coached by some old fart at the REC. This is the worst basketball team (2 years in a row),that I have ever witnessed. I go back to the early days of Press Maravich, too. I was about to jump out the window of my hotel room this afternoon, but I realized I was on the first floor.

I'd really like to know why Lynn nance was hired. He doesn't attend road games and hardly speaks at home games.

If at this time next year we're still talking about how bad the LSU basketball team sucks, than we probably need a new head coach.

I personally think we'll be a good team next year, and make it to the dance.

The only dance we're going to is the Dance of the Wolves. Two guys won't make a Championship difference on this team. Too many street ballers on this team, including the coach on the bench.

trent is not a horrible coach when he has talent. (that sentence should win me some kind of genius award)

it's taking him longer than what most of us wanted to get this talent..next season, with the new guys and this years experience for the returning players, i think we'll be good enough to make the dance. if i'm wrong,,,,,new coach.

I think even his most ardent supporters will agree that he should be gone next year without some major improvement.

He def. won't be fired this year, so these threads are kind of meaningless.
