The New Orleans Saints have issued a statement, disputing rumors that Coach Sean Payton is leaving for a position with the Dallas Cowboys.

"Coach Payton is the Saints Head Coach; he is not going to the Dallas Cowboys in any capacity."

However, they didn't say anything about he or his family moving to the city of Dallas. Which is what the rumors really seem to be about.

Perhaps he got a deal from Benson where he can coach from home telecommuting and just physically coming in for games.

I'm pretty sure the LAST thing we would want would be SPs family moving away.

My source at the Saints Superbowl party says Sean Paytons 13 year old daughter was crying at the party.

Does that mean they are leaving or is she upset she's not moving to Dallas (a young rich shopping girls dream)

Bill Cowher coached the Steelers for something like a decade while his family lived in Raleigh, North Carolina. Even if this news is true, I'm not sure it's the freak-out worthy event some of you think it is.

good point, however It's still FAR from an ideal situation. Who knows about their family dynamic, etc. I wouldn't put money on him living in a different city for more than a few years.

Completely serious.

Way to stereotype a 13-year old, there.

I'd be willing to bet that the timing of this decision has a lot to do with the kids' education. Better they can get their residence established in a school district in Dallas now (before High School - grades 10-12, not 9-12).

If my child could get the same education in a Dallas public school as in a New Orleans private school...

ETA:

Assuming there's a kernel of truth in this story.

Oh, I'm not going to disagree with you. It's far from the norm, but not unprecedented. Without knowing the state of the Paytons' marriage, none of us know shite really...and it's really none of our business.

He is staying. Saints released a statement saying he is the coach of the Saints and is not going to the Cowboys. Check out NOLA. com
