Recruitniks, can you explain why Rasco isn't rated a 5 star?

Rasco has a very, very impressive offer sheet. It seems like every major programs offered him a scholarship. Anthony Johnson rated a 5 stars only had 7 scholarship offers. Wouldn't it have made more sense that Rasco be rated a 5 stars and Johnson a 4 stars.

I guess my point is shouldn't the more impressive offer sheet be more indicative of an athlete's talent?

I think AJ got a lot less offers because he was all lsu from the beginning, while rasco strung out his recruiting process.

Nope, only 7 schools would let him play there.

He was a 5 star on Scout and his offer list is outstanding!

Jesse Williams is another story.....and yes he should have been a five star.

But Rasco's size is not typical of incoming DEs that can dominate immediately. That's why you give Clowney or Drew a five star. They have the size to compete at a high level immediately. Rasco needs to get in the weight room with Moffitt. He'll be a All-SEC performer soon, though.

No legit reason for not being 5 star IMO.

He will be a great player and may see field as true freshman.

He's that good.

It's official. Freak is overrated and Rasco is the next Jason Taylor

b/c he is not a Bama recruit...Had he shown more interest towards that way, Rivals ownership would have made him a 6-star

I'm not putting AJ down. I was simply wondering why a 4 star athlete would have more scholarship offers than a 5 star athlete. I'm no recruiting expert and will never claim to be, it just befuddles me that a lower ranked athlete should have a better offer list than the higher ranked athlete.

Hence my question as to why Rasco isn't a 5 star.

a. freak was likely going wherever frank went, as long as frank was coaching at a decent school. add in the fact that he was recruiting for a LA school and freak was a 100% lock from that point

b. scout/rivals gets offer information from the kids themselves. i doubt freak was giving much information to other rivals sites. rasco had an open recruitment and had much more exposure

Because LA already had 3 five stars and they're never ever gonna give us 4 five stars, period.
