Personally, I like this movie. It doesn't get much credit, but it is interesting (albeit a little slow), with a great cast, and well directed.

This. But I really am not sure what I like about it. Pitt is positively wooden in this role. Which may be by design, considering who he was playing.

It's overly-sentimental, boring fluff. The score drowns out all of the dialogue. One of Brad Pitt's worst performances.

It is a bit slow and long but I liked it and still watch parts of it from time to time. Really liked Hopkins performance.

And as others have said, the accident was unexpected and very cool. I hate catching that part on regular tv.
And Claire Forlani has been high on my list since this movie. You know, for being hot.
