Deja vu at the running back position?
Posted by tonydtiger on 2/4/11 at 8:43 am00
What are the chances Kenny Hilliard gets the number 21 that his uncle Dalton wore during his days at LSU. I remember those days well! Gary James and Dalton Hilliard--The Dalton/James Gang! Man, did I love to watch Dalton run the ball. Definitely one of the all-time greats to wear the Purple and Gold!

Would be nice. Dalton was exciting.

Chris Tolliver wears #21. I'm sure he wouldn't just willingly give it up to an incoming freshman.

Dalton was the man back then.

Yep! His style of running reminded me a lot of the late, great Walter "Sweetness" Peyton. I can still remember him running all over Bama at Legion Field that sunny Saturday afternoon back in 1982, I believe it was. Anyway, we won 20-10 and the game wasn't even that close.

Kenny Hilliard will be #4

I am hearing that he is to big and slow ( never seen him play). He broke the state rushing record right? So how good is he really?

My favorite Saints player of ALL-TIME! I was still a little to young to remember him at LSU. I remember him more from the Saints.

I still remember the slogan they used in his Heisman push: Dalton Hilliard "He-is-the-man"

Has anyone asked if KH wants his uncle's number?

Exactly right, Gramisch! Remember like it was yesterday, sitting in my car listening. We couldn't stop Bond and the State option attack! Remember State brought in portable lights for that game because it was on national tv
Anyway, I think that would have to go down as one of the all-time great Tiger teams, with Risher at Qb and Michael Brooks at LB, along with the Dalton/James Gang!

Dalton is my favorite LSU RB of all time. Still want to see his highlights but none on the net that I can find. I remember seeing a video on tv after the season ended of his highlights and it was mind boggling.

Without Hilliard there is no Who Dat Nation.
Kenny won't be as good, sorry.

my favorite running back with lsu. and he came out of nowhere in a game against florida (as a freshman i believe) and was the #1 reason we won the game; a game noone gave us a chance to win. florida simply couldn't stop him. he was short but had legs like tree trunks and would always get a lot of yardage after he was hit. if his nephew is that good, our other rb's are gonna sit a lot.

I dont follow recruiting much but I heard on a local sports talk show here from some real LSU guys that Hilliard got fat this year and that Hill was a much superior back. Thats just what I heard though.
