Anyone know what Sam Montgomery's status will be for 2011? Will it take him two years to overcome that injury (what a dirty block)? Did he lose a full year of eligibility for 2010?

Will practice in spring with green no contact jersey then should be ready to go full speed by fall. He'll be good to go for 2011 season.

I could be totally wrong here but I am pretty sure it was a legal block. They guy went low at his legs. Now was it a dirty block? I think any time you go low at someones legs, it is dirty to me. They should change the rules completely, no going down at someones legs. I know it would be hard to police, but so many lineman get injured when they are block low(the knees or lower). Just my two cents.

He ran a 4.49 (40) before the Cotton Bowl. Green Jersey in Spring, ready in fall.

Sam Montgomery at 240+ ran a post surgical 4.49 40 prior to the Cotton Bowl?

I need the guy timing that 40 to do my taxes.

I agree. I saw Sam on campus the other day... It is a scary thought to imagine someone that big running that fast. No doubt he can motor, but if the 4.49 is true - that is impressive.

Nothing dirty about the play Sam got hurt on, just bad luck.

You sure could tell the difference in the D after he went out. Can't wait to have him back at 100% ASAP.

I doubt he will get another year of eligibility since he was an all sec freshman after playing only 5 games which is insanely impressive in itself.
