A couple of questions:

1. Is it worth going?

2. I hear there's usually a line out the door. Are there any times around lunch that are better? Right when the doors open at 11? 1:30?

If you like paying $12 for a cross between Wendy's and Sonic its totally worth it.

If you are in the area and want a premium fast food burger it's a fine choice. If you are in the area and want a premium burger, the general consensus seems to be there are multiple restaurants in the area that can do better for about the same price. Zea's is right next door, Portabellos, Dempsey's and Cafe Americain have also been mentioned as alternatives.

haven't had the burger at Zea, but like most of their stuff, i'd bet it's pretty good.

Portobello's has a real good burger.

Dempsey's makes a good burger.

Cafe Americaine...i didn't like the food at the one that closed on g'oneal...maybe this one is better.

Mugshots...didn't eat their burger, and will probably never go there again. is that wrong?

Five Guys...i will at some point give them a try.

i think 5 guys is good, not great.

BUT it blows any fast food burger out the water as far as im concerned.

Sure it does. But $12 on fast food? No thanks. I'll go to a sit down restaurant and have something 10x better.

ill pay $12 for a burger and some good fries(which i know is debatable) over $8 for some wendys (and wendys is my favorite fast food). the extra few dollars is worth it to me, to each his own

That's what I'm saying.
$12 is more than I even spend going to Mason's or Sammy's or any other sit down burger joint. I can get out of most SIT-DOWN places for $9-$10 when I get a burger and fries.

Why pay MORE for fast food that's not as good?

Because every meal choice doesn't have to be optimal. That is one of the oddities of the food board, good enough isn't good enough here.

And is it really $12? The fries are more than enough for 2 and I remember the bill being under $20 when I went with my wife for 2 burgers and fries.

Ours was exactly $22 for each a burger, SPLITTING fries, and 2 drinks.

Turns out, the single patty burger would have probably filled us up, but the guy behind the counter assured us the "normal size" (which is the double patty) was what average people eat. The single patty is misleadingly called "Little Burger" which makes you think it's for kids

I don't know what these people are ordering but if you get a single patty burger and fries it's a little over six bucks. Very reasonable price imo and I can't even finish it all. If you're into double bacon cheeseburgers then I imagine it would get a little pricier though.

They really need a better way of letting people know this is standard. The "standard" burger is the double patty. The single one is labeled as little and leads you to believe it's a child's burger.

If you go to BK, the average person isn't going to order the Whopper Junior right? Some women with smaller appetites .. kids.. etc. order them. But not your average reasonably hungry person.

Yeah, I'm a normal sized dude and admit I feel a little emasculated ordering a "little hamburger".
