PP7 recruitment question..........

Guess I could go search but that would require effort.
What was the attraction to LSU? Pulling the #1 defensive player in the country from his home-state of Florida is quite a haul. What was the key ingredient(s)?

I don't think the little thing about Meyer questioning PP's ACT score helped Florida's chances at all?

LSU had a decent yr in '07 when he was coming out of HS, and Miami was terrible

Jordy talked to him Friday morning and he said it was mostly because he loved Miles and really liked the campus and the atmosphere.
Also made the interesting point that Miles was the ONLY coach that did NOT tell him "You'll start from day one." He said he liked that Miles told him he could come in and compete and would have the chance to play early if he worked hard.
Meyer and Shannon, etc. (he didn't use names) told him he could come in and start. Just an interesting tidbit.

thought that was after he was committed to LSU or at least leaning away from UF?

He started as a true freshman for the defending national champions. He is now a top 5 pick and his CB counterpart Brandon Harris at Miami is barely ever mentioned. Pretty easy to see why he chose LSU.

He was really good friends with Terrell Pryor on teh recruiting trail. I actually saw him adn Nigel Bradham on Lemmings show and he was die hard Miami at that time. Then he became upset with them adn de committed.
I heard the same thing that he loved miles but I know we had some gaps with Johnathon Zenon and I cant think of his name he went on to play at Atlanta bot hleft for the draft. He stole Eugens starting job about 6 weeks into the season.

May I add to this... why is his brothers last named Johnson and if you look at the recruiting sites they had him listed as Patrick Johnson coming out of high school (atleast rivals did). I'm sure I def missed something?? Sure;y he didn't want the nickname PP that much huh?

Saban was LONG gone when PP7 signed with LSU. I 'm pretty sure Little Nicky had nothing to do with it when PP7 signed with the Tigers.
