Interesting...I havent seen this from mens basketball before like we have the womens. They have generally not cared about LSU faculty or staff in the past.

The LSU Athletic Department is pleased to invite all LSU Faculty and Staff members to a special afternoon of LSU Tiger Basketball in the Pete Maravich Assembly Center. On Saturday, February 5th at 3 p.m., your Fighting Tigers will take on the Bulldogs of Mississippi State.

All LSU Faculty and Staff members can purchase $1 tickets by showing their University ID at the PMAC ticket office beginning at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, February 5, or by logging on to LSUTix.net any time and entering promo code 2011LSUFS. Faculty and staff members can purchase up to four (4) tickets for $1 each.

Halftime of the game will feature a performance by Peter Rabbit the Bucket Drummer, who will bring the raw energy of his craft that made him the star of the Tony-Award winning show "Bringin’ The Noise, Bringin’ The Funk". Peter Rabbit has performed in the Staples Center for the Los Angeles Lakers and on other professional stages. For a preview of Peter Rabbit go to LINK

Two seasons ago, during the Christmas break, faculty and staff could get a free ticket by showing their LSU ID card, just like at the baseball games. I went to the Washington State game that year. I may go, but the way the team is playing this year.... Is Mississippi State any good?

I usually send 1 email a basketball season to LSU athletics about letting faculty and staff in free for games since attendance has been poor.

I know they cant do cheap promotion stuff all the time because it infuriates season ticket holders, but LSu faculty and staff are part of the LSU community.

I'm sure they've made up their money for the no shows with the TAF charge on the season ticket holders now.

Maybe they should offer free admission to any HS kid wearing a letter jacket.

I think the women may actually be outdrawing the men this year in actual attendance.

Offering $1 tickets to faculty and staff does nothing for LSU's program. Why not go out and make this same offer to little league basketball organizations in the area or maybe high school and junior high kids. Thats how you build a fan base.
