Just as it did in the State of Recruiting project, Florida led the nation in players produced. The state of 18.5 million produced 35 linemen. Texas produced a whopping 26 NFL defensive linemen, but Texas is a whopping state of 24.8 million citizens. For better economy, go to Louisiana, a state of 4.5 million that produced 17 players, including Dorsey and end Tyson Jackson (Edgard, La.), who were teammates at LSU and now play together in Kansas City.

No surprises there. Let's see; Freak, MJ, Thomas, Hunter and Rasco. Appears that the beat goes on for La.

Well. Warm states meaning you can work out year round, that helps.

I believe that's false. Cold weather is what tends to steer kids toward playing more basketball and other indoor sports in the winter. That is why basketball is so strong in the north compared to the south despite the black population disparity.

Im gonna have to agree with this. With no indoor practice facilities for high schools in the north I would tend to think it would steer a lot of the athletes up there towards basketball and away form football and baseball. There has to be some reason for the south producing more athletes in baseball and football and the north doing the same in basketball.
