Well. Warm states meaning you can work out year round, that helps.

That's true for baseball, but for football the weather don't mean jack!

I believe that's false. Cold weather is what tends to steer kids toward playing more basketball and other indoor sports in the winter. That is why basketball is so strong in the north compared to the south despite the black population disparity.

Im gonna have to agree with this. With no indoor practice facilities for high schools in the north I would tend to think it would steer a lot of the athletes up there towards basketball and away form football and baseball. There has to be some reason for the south producing more athletes in baseball and football and the north doing the same in basketball.
