Private schools that help teachers with tuition

I was wondering what private schools in the baton rouge area help out their teachers with tuition. My wife is adamant on teaching private school and our kids going to private school.

With the kids tuition? Or paying back her own tuition?

When I taught private school, if you were a teacher your kids attended absolutely free. Which is why so many of the teachers were parents of kids there.

Which also kind of sucked, because they didn't require a college degree to teach.

School by school basis, but per my other post, children of any teacher generally get a full tuition exemption.

A kid at silliman institute whose mom was a lunch lady and she got discount tuition.. Surely teachers do as well.

i dont find that to be a general rule of thumb.

i know when i was at st. jude, my friends who had teacher parents received a small discount and pretty much were first choice in kindergarten to be enrolled.

I'm not 100% sure about different schools within the diocese.

I know that the pay was weak compared to public school salary, but it obviously made up for it if you had a couple of kids getting a free ride.

What school did you attend? The one I went to did offer free tuition but I think they cut it out or they keep it on the dl now. Fwiw all our teachers had college degrees.

Rule of Thumb- you can beat your wife with a limb from a tree as long as it is no bigger than the diameter of your thumb.

I love when women use this term makes me smile.
Parkview Baptist used to give free tuition for brats of a teacher. Not sure if they still do.

St Jude definitely doesn't do free tuition for teachers. I don't even think they get much of a break if any. Also, contrary to what afreaux always loves to claim on this board, there are no teachers at St Jude that do not have a degree. Maybe that is the case at some of the Diocese schools that are struggling to make it.

I've never once stated that there are teachers at St. Jude without a college degree. Feel free to link if I'm wrong.

Just curious. What schools do you think don't require a college degree?

but when the topic of Catholic Schools in BR comes up you LOVE to throw that blanket statement out there about how you don't need a degree to teach in the schools. Nevermind that, for the majority of schools that people would be looking at, that is not the case. (MBS, St G, St J, St A, SJV...)

No school in the Catholic Diocese of BR requires it, you can stop by the HR department and ask them.

The school I taught at had teachers with just a high school diploma. How often does this occur at all high schools in the Diocese right now? Couldn't tell you, and have never tried to.
