Headed long out of the Point this weekend and fired up to get back out in blue water.

Anybody else getting out on the water after this little 3 month duck hiatus?

How far are yall gonna have to run from the point to get to blue water? I've only been out of there once, we went ~100 miles and were still on the shelf. Pretty water, but not blue

The Auger is 125 miles out of the pass and in a few thousand feet, but we'll probably head to Green Canyon. Its a good run, upwards of 170 miles, but we cruise at 40 knots.

Thats an amazing bottom fishing area since its not fished too much. We always stop on the way out/in and drop some of those first rigs on the shelf. I'm pumped to get back out there, i'm sure some of those rigs havent seen a boat in 3 months.

I've never seen so many 20+ pound red snapper on one rig in my life. It was amazing

I like to fish the artificial reefs. Nothing like watching people blow by running to God knows where and you are limiting out

We have had good luck on a few in the South Tim block the last few years. My buddy has a 22' Mckee with twin 115's that is perfect for fishing that area. Hopefully when the kids get older I can get another center console. Stuck doing the RV thing for now

October to March was always my favorite time to fish. Usually the only one on the water. Fishing super slow with a BIG ole jig. Starting in March you can hardly find a spot on the north end of Concordia. Everyone looking for that big ole sow.
