Seriously, when I see someone freaking out about stars and overall recruiting rankings, I think about that person being dumb as a rock. Maybe I am wrong, but I doubt it.

Yes. I know the players LSU has committed. And you can't look ms straight in the face and tell me someone has a better class committed.

There's just no freaking way.

Best OL, Best DL, Best WR, two terrific DB prospects ( not to mention Eugene), an OLB who fits perfectly into LSU's defensive scheme, Rasco, Odell Beckham Jr, Corey White, Trai Turner. These are national recruits.

Oh yeh, and the most college ready quarterback prospect.

I'll take this class over Anyones anyday.

Looking at a kids offer sheet will do you way better than just looking at stars. This is a much better indication of how other programs feel about him.

If you obsess about them and want to argue about it then yes.

The majority of people though don't have time to break down high school film and grade out players. Majority of people haven't been watching Collins play for the last 3 years.

Most people just want to know if there team recruited good players wout having to be waistdeep in youtube clips and rankings are a quick easy way to do that.

Looking at kids offer sheet is something that I will do more of now that you mention it. I usually just look at stars, but I don't get all upset over them and freak out. I think it is just a way to have bragging rights during the offseason. Speaking of offer sheets, Jamauria Rasco's is

Rankings are fun,
Stars are fun,

Trying to win a recruiting championship is more mythical than the BCS. Roll Tide fans aspire for this.

Asking questions on a recruiting board about "how many of you are mad that ________ is not a four star?"is beyond me.

Those type of questions do bother me some too. Complaining about it on message boards don't really do anything. One thing that I like to look at is the actual final rankings of a class after signing day when some of the recruits may not make the grades, grayshirts, and oversigning all gets worked out. Last year our rankings were higher in the end after all of this because everyone qualified.

I think LSU's process of evaluating prospects is better than at most schools. I've heard Sam Nader has a lot to do with this. It probably has atleast something to do with the purple and gold glasses I wear, but I think our 3 star prospects are better than they're supposed to be acc'd to rankings.
