I think McShay has him going late first. Of course that is McShay.

I think we have a winner for the Baghead award. Does it count if it is on the wrong board?

He's the #1 rated RB in the draft, somebody before the Saints will need a RB. Kiper has him going #15 to the Dolphins.

agreed that he is #1 RB, wondering if we could trade up to get him, but then waht do we do about Chris Ivory and Pierre Thomas?

not sure if I'd trade up for him... if we trade up we should get a DE IMO

Dude, it's a RB. They are a dime a dozen. Ivory and PT Cruiser where both undrafted free agents.

Absolutely under no circumstance should the saints draft a RB in the first 3 rounds.

With Ivory and company on the roster, feels like we need the picks more than we need to trade up for one specific running back.

While this is very true, there's generally a reason those guys are in the bottom of the barrel. In both PT and Ivory's case, they came from small schools. Ivory has a long history of injuries, as do many of the guys at the bottom of the bucket. Drafting high for a RB definitely does not guarantee longevity or durability but they are more proven runners that have done well at staying healthy. I agree though, not above the 3rd round. If we draft based upon need, I want to see 1st round DE, 2nd round DT, 3rd round RB, 3rd round LBer (Casey Matthews!), and whatever else may come is fine.

just concerned that we need a stud RB to take the pressure off our passing game. Ivory could very well be the guy.
