Got some from Whole Foods yesterday, steamed it up and it was delicious. Took hardly any effort, so I will definetly be doing it again. Where is the best(cheapest) place to buy it? It was $9.99 a pound at Whole Foods.

how'd you steam it? I've seen it on sale sometimes at Rouse's, and it's tempting

I steamed them with about 1/3 cup old bay seasoning, and 2 smashed cloves of garlic. Flavor was awesome. Steamed for 5 mins and they were perfect.

I know I sound like a broken record but albertsons ran King not snow crab a couple of weeks ago for $12.99/lb which is dirt cheap.

I used to tear up the filets and salmon when It would go on sale. Now I can't seem to get over the disgusting rotten seafood smell that every albertsons seems to have as soon as u hit the front door.

I get the snow crab from Albertsons quite often. You can get them on sale every now and then for $5.99/lb. and the king crab legs for $9.99/lb.

albertsons sells bags of the "scraps" lol from the king crab and the snow crab. the pieces that fall off when they take them out of the case. you can get a few pounds for four bucks. i buy them all the time

fyi last week they had the lobster tails on sale for 5.99 a piece. they were delicious also.

I buy a bunch at the $4.99-$5.99 price range when they're on sale and therefore always have some in my freezer. I also always ask if they have frozen legs in the back, which a lot of times they will. You just never know how long the thawed crab has been in that state inside that case.

i've known one of the butchers a very very long time. i don't worry about buying rotten food. he'll tell me exactly when they put them out.

another money saving tip, sometimes if you ask the butcher about meat they HAVE to sell that day, or overstock, you can get great deals. i bought 8 winn dixie ribeyes for 40% of the cost a few weeks ago. it was a slow day and they wanted to move them out. he marked them with chuck roast price tags. it never hurts to ask
