3D no glasses

I had to look up how RealD 3D works in the theater in order to understand the concept of the glasses.

Real D 3D

quote:

Real D 3D movies work by projecting two copies of the movie onto the screen, one after the other in quick succession. One series of frames is from the perspective of the left eye, while the other is from the perspective of the right eye. The left and right projections have different light polarizations. The left lens of the 3D glasses allows the light from the left projection to be seen by the left eye, but prevents light from the right projection being seen by the left eye. The right lens does the opposite, allowing only the right projection's light to be seen by the right eye. This has the effect of making the right and left eyes see slightly different versions of the movie, each from a different perspective, just as occurs when viewing a real-world scene. The human brain naturally combines the two two-dimensional images into a single, 3-dimensional scene.

For those that hate the glasses but want 3D, if this is the answer to your problem would you try it? Or just go without 3D?

I am not a fan of 3D and I don't plan on making it a must have. HD is enough for me.

Is this for real? How can those little receptor things make your eyelids twitch like that? It looks like it would hurt after a few minutes. Might even cause seizures.

I've never understood why people are so against the glasses...you wear them at the movies if you see it in 3D, so why not at home..? Besides, it actually does look incredible. I was against all this 3D talk when it first came out, but my opinion is slowly changing. I just am not sure the technology will sustain itself if it doesn't catch on with the mass public.

I think it is most likely some sort of compact electronic muscle stimulator that pulses in alternating currents.

It seems like the rate that the eye has to blink is SO fast that it would indeed hurt after a while. Plus, if it is a muscle stimulator we'd end up with bulging muscles on our temples after all those repetitions

I would give it a try for the sake of curiosity, but I don't think this is viable for the masses.

Same here. I just feel like an idiot sitting around the house wearing TV glasses.

Plus, I still can't figure out why I saw Avatar three times in the theater, so I'm pretty sure mind control is happening here.
