Yeah, a 6th seed and a 5th seed making the Super Bowl is way better (if it's Packers vs Jets). Always great when teams that can't win their 4 team division make the championship

that doesn't necessarily mean that playoffs > the BCS

unless you hate the Falcons as much as I do

the NFL playoffs, where a team beats the living dogshit out of another team in the regular season not too long ago and its meaningless

But everybody watched it anyway. Playoffs do not ruin the regular season.

This.

The OP's scenario is the very REASON the BCS > NFL Playoffs.

Let the best teams play for the Championship. . .

it's not like that was the only time they played this year.

So you'd rather watch the Pats and Falcons instead of a Pack-Jets Super Bowl? After the way those teams have played in the playoffs? Being a Falcons homer, I guess you would.

But I wouldn't.

They are. Unlike TCU.

the randomness of the NFL playoffs makes the teams interchangeable, so why does it matter?

Considering that LSU was the equivalent of a #6 seed this year, I would much rather have seen them in a playoff than the exhibition game in Dallas.

And if they somehow won it all. . .you would say they were the best team in CFB?

???? Did you watch the Falcons and Pats this weekend? Still think either of them deserves the title of "best team?"

But you're right. We should have just left Green Bay out because they're a small market team and they play in a weak division.

I'm not saying I think they would have won it all. But I am saying I would have liked to see them try.

Exactly. And my favorite example is when the Giants won the Superbowl. Were they really the best team that season? Or just the best over the last couple games?
