My opinion is that Les des not deserve a new deal. If the TN game goes the other way Mich is not even looking at Les. Keeping Les on his same contract is Ok with me.

New coach. LSU will have to move quickly to retain recruits. Pelini would be the most logical choice.

well, if hatcher doesn't screw up on two plays against arkansas, they win that one. you can what if, all day long. we were as close to being undefeated as we were to being 8-4. you can say that about every team, every year.

Les will get more money if he stays and it won't have anything to do with Michigan trying to steal him. He will get a raise because he won 11 games... It's in his current contract.

Since signing his new deal in 2008

2008 - 8-5 All 5 losses in SEC
2009 - 9-4 Beat up on bottom of SEC and lost every big game.
2010 - 11-2 Both losses in SEC. If you watched this team then you know that they were on the edge of disaster at all times. Lee saved them twice and Dooley once.

Zero SEC West championchips. Not asking for NC here

What about this screams extension? He is signed though 2012.

New Deal...who cares what the guy is paid...he has shown that he is a winner. I would however put in a provision that states he loses all his money if he loses to Ar-Kansas again.

I say both; give a new coach the new deal.

Surely someone has to be thinking rationally. I Love me some Les Miles but we could get much better XO's guy and just as an effective recruiter at $5 mill per with a big buyout.

I doubt he is looking for much more money at all. He just wants some support from the administration. He can't do much about the retards in our fan base who give him hell no matter what, but he can put himself into a position of demanding some respect from the AD, etc.
He is doing what any sane person would do right now with this situation.

There is no guarantee of this, and it's just stupid to even think this. We could end up going the way of Miami after firing Larry Coker.

Coming off an 11-2, top 10 season and he is wanted by another program. It seems some of you guys aren't familiar with capitalism. There is a demand for Les, and he will--rightfully so--leverage it into more money. '08 and '09 really have nothing to do with this.

We could go Louie Cook, great X&O coach a very effective recruiter in his years at ND HS and we could get him for like $120k and a new crown vic.

Oh crap, I must have been spending too much time RaginPagan during Ew La La's coaching search.

Sorry to have such lofty expectations but I would like to go to the Georgia Dome for the SEC Championship game once every 3 years.

14-10 in SEC since signing extension.

and urban meyer went 7-5 in the regular season the year after tebow left. florida is looking at another 8-4 or 9-3 season even if meyer were still there. bama went 9-3 this year, and was on the verge of losing to arkansas. and they have yet to replace their starting qb. my point is, stuff like this happens. you can blame les all you want for the qb situation, i agree and won't argue with that. it's his job to recruit and develop players. at the qb position, he hasn't done that. but, signing zm MIGHT be the answer. we shall see.

Complete B.S.
This team was much closer to being 8-4 than it was to being undefeated. Your argument only works if the team lost games that it deserved to win. On the contrary, this team won games it deserved to lose. You can't dispute that except by forgetting what actually took place on the field this year.

And he hasn't sniffed a championship.

Rewarding him at this point is stupid and fear-based, so I'm sure it's exactly what the "cover my arse" higher-ups will do.

Not really. There were a lot of open positions NFL and college and besides Michigan(Him being an alum) I didn't hear his names mentioned as a candidate for any.
