The truth hurts. The waiting game is the worst part but I honestly feel like LSU is in a win/win situation as opposed to the last time when Saban left. Either Miles stays, and I feel like we won, or he leaves and I feel the same.

That being said,

Mullen
Sarkasian
Tubberville

Not exactly what I would want as the short list, but in time frame and you did say realistic so those are my 3.

When you boil it down people know who the real options are...

Pelini (yack)
Mullen (ok)
or a SEC or Louisiana related coordinator

Gruden? His lifetime win % is like .500.
Just because he makes scary faces?

Getting a Ron Zook is the more likely than any of the big names that people are throwing around here.

Alleva needs to try damned hard to heep Les here.

Tubs--no. I actually like Sark more than Mullen. I think he's more personable and charasmatic than Mullen. Mullen has done a nice job and State had a very good season by their standards. But they still lost to every team in the West not named Ole Miss and finished 5th. If not for taking advantage of Georgia and Florida being down in the East, MSU's season wouldn't have looked so special.

Not saying Mullen won't be a great coach, just that I'm not sure his resume so far makes it inevitable.

Gruden would just have us going through this same bullshite every year when the NFL comes calling. No thanks.

Top 4:
Patterson
Fisher
Sarkisian
Mullen

Now, I realize that Mullen may be the only realistic possibility on that list, but I would at least gauge Patterson's interest first.

To those saying gruden, why don't we just get him, then get Sean Payton to be the offensive coordinator and belichick for the defense! WIN!

Me too. I wanted that guy as Miles' replacement since we played them last year. I think he would be gold and I think he would come here.
