I 100% agree with all ten of those....although I will play devil's advocate and throw out the only reason that I could see Miles leaving (other than the obvious UM ties)....The constant hotseat for him that is Baton Rouge, LA....I can see how it would wear on a man....of course if you make 4mil I guess you have to expect it....but I can understand if he took 3 mil in Michigan to get away from the hotseat.

Don't think it's gonna happen though.....namely becuase of the reason you listed.

+1 although the grass at UM was planted while LM was an assistnat there (1991), folklore has it that he personally picked the sod type.

LSU is dumb if they get into a bidding war for Les Miles...

Isn't the buyout only 1.25 million?
that's pocket change to boosters.

i pretty much agree on the rest, except that level of expectation is far greater down here than in Michigan. in the SEC, you're playing national championship contenders every weekend and expected to go undefeated.

in the Big 10ish, you have your Indiana's, Illinois', Northwestern's, etc.
and those are the teams you're recruiting against too.

This would be my thoughts too.

Good man. Players love him and play hard.

Treated like crap by a portion of fandome.

The number one reason for any Coach to not go to Michigan is that it is a total rebuilding project. RR had talent for his offense and and no defense and anyone else who goes in there had better be able to use what they have there because they will not get any better for at least 3 years down the road if, IF they can get several years of top classes of recruiting. The only reason for them to come after Miles is for that very reason because he is a great recruiter and that is whats needed up there more than any X's and O's Coach. The other thing where had you wrather live in the South or up there in the North where it is colder for 3/4's of the year and down here it is warmer for at least 3/4's of the year? You got that right and that alone will serve recruiting more so than up there.

He's staying because his success looks like it depends on luck. what if that "luck" doesn't follow him. Michigan won't take that chance
