Should Miles leave, Nolan should be the obvious choice. Former NFL head coach, big time highly regarded NFL defensive co-ordinator, LSU ties.

wouldn't go back to college game. He is regarded as one of the best DC's in the nfl.

He wasn't particularly good with the management aspects of being a HC. He is not remotely personable and wouldn't be able to recruit for any program. He's a DC and should/will remain one.

I'm a fan, plus Miami is a mess right now.

Really? Obvious choice? He hasn't coached or had anything to do with college since Jams were in style.

Other things that happened when he was last coaching in college:

Top Gun came out
Hands Across America
Gas was .89 cents a gallon
IBM releases the first laptop

Rock Me Amadeus was big and we were introduced to the phrase "Word Up!". This is what we were listening to when we weren't watching Magnum P.I.

LSU ties.

Was here for one year.

I like Nolan and think he is a pretty good head coach, but he's an NFL guy and I don't see him coming back to college anytime soon.

On the flip side, he is a sharp dresser.
