It's a trip that they don't eat the skin or even cut it much. His whole face is intact but there's no meat.

Sorry, I can't repost the pics here on my POS work comp, but the pic on 2/3/11 at 7:33am is pretty bad arse. If you haven't seen my previous post about my in-law and his record mountain lion, I'm new to the outdoor sports world. Don't know much about all these different animals with the exception of what I've read on here and other sites, but that coyote(maybe a wolf?)looks like it would be a pretty nice get and mount in that pose lol.

Also, a few pics down on 2/4/11 at 3:50pm; what kind of bird is that? I assume some kind of hawk, but I've never seen the feathering like that.

BP I think he's just so tough they don't want to mess with the hide if they don't have to. I suspect when they run out of meat they'll start gnawing on the hide and bones.

I'm going out there later this week with the intention of taking advantage of that hunger starting to set in and see if I can't call them out of that thicket to where I can see them and knock a hole in them. Got a feeling I'm going to be successful with that.

I like that pic too Vol. So far I've got over 1400 pics and obviously there are others that are probably better than some of these but I've just kinda tried to give a representation of it in chronological order.

And yeah the Red Tail Hawks are cool. Got hundreds of pics of them. From what I can see, they were the first ones to get into that front shoulder. I had shot that shoulder three times with a 12 ga with birdshot but it didn't penetrate to the meat so they took their time getting to it but when the hawks started cutting holes in via those divots I'd shot into it, the coyotes got in there and started yanking and tearing and got the hole bigger so they could get their head in there. Once the buzzards got involved it didn't take long. Between the two of them they ate most of both shoulders in less than 24 hours from the top down.

I found the skull twenty yards away in great shape.

Total count of pics is close to 1800. Batteries still at 78%

I had fun making it. Was a trip walking up to that spot today and it was gone. Took awhile to track where he carried it. Still never found the rest of it. If he wants a pig hide full of bones that bad, more power to him.

I tried to call him today but he wasn't having it.

His buddy the bobcat on the other hand wasn't so smart.

I completely attribute that cat to my Leupold Vari-X III 50mm scope. My buddy was in the stand with me and we were both looking at it at dark and couldn't make out what it was.

Put the scope on it and he was dead seconds later.

Showing the guys at work and they are talking about doing the same type of thing if the circumstances are right.

This is an awesome thread! I missed tithe first time around. I was planning on doing the same thing this year with our deer gutpiles.

I saw a study last week that said that deer are so curious that they will actually visit and sniff the guts of other deer.

We will definitely find out after opening weekend!
