Yes, the rushing stats are better than 2009, but I think it is that it's because we had an upgrade in the backfield. The O-linemen don't fire off; they stand up, push off and don't move their feet very well. Not impressed with the position coaching and I can't believe that Miles would be happy with their overall performance since he knows that position well.

-Barksdale was OK, but not the dominating presence that some thought he would be.
-After watching Dworaczyk for 2 years -- he gets beat quite often. He is slow to the point of attack and his footwork is poor.
-I believe that Hurst was our best offensive lineman and was consistently solid all year.
-TBob is undersized and inconsistent. I'll give him a bit of a pass because of the Tenn. game.
-Lonegran seems to be improving with each game. Hope he rounds out.
-I hope to see more of Blackwell.

Still, even if we do get better prospects, I am concerned with their progression. Very few seem to get much better under Stud. LSU's sputtering offense has just as much to do with the O-line as the QB play. We must get better on the line or we will never sniff another NC.

Sacks are down and running yards are up. i think this is a significant improvement from last years line.

Shaw and Faulk saw plenty of playing time. We'll be even better next year.

Stats lie, JJ learned from 09 and gets rid of the ball quicker or throws it away. Ridley actually breaks tackles, Scott and Keiland did not.

Didn't we have a former player assistant. I can't recall who he was though?

A position like the O-Line is not going to change in one season. Something like that takes a couple of tries to find the right chemistry between the linemen. Then a chemistry between the line and the QB has to be found. Once the chemistry is found, then we will be an unstoppable force.

Scott was my favorite back of the decade but he got stood up at the line too much. Like he couldn't find the hole. He could break tackles but he rarely ever got pass the line

because there weren't any in 2009. Look at him in 2008 with a decent line...

plus his stats went way down from 08 to 09 because he got 100 less carries.

He was out for 3 games at the end of the year too. That's about 45 carries right there.

Anything is an improvement from last years. I wish we produced OL as abundantly as we do WR, RB's, and DL.

We need a big dominating OL. Guys like Dworacyzk need to get bigger and Hurst should move inside at guard while Collins can come in and start at RT.

...again, Collins is NOT going to come in a fricking start...I've watched him and he SHOULD be good in years to come (he was not the dominating force I expected to see), but he will not start as a TFr.

on the size statement, I would like to introduce you to:

LINK

arguably the best olineman this season....and, he's 6'2", 286 lbs, and a GUARD.

Watched the FSU O-lineman and he was getting beat up in the bowl game. There's obviously SOME exceptions but the bottom line is big and dominating is where it's at. Why is Wisconsin ever good? Because they have a huge dominating OL. Guys like Dworacyzk need to bulk up. This isn't IAA. 6'6 280-295 isn't acceptable. That guy at guard should be WELL over 300. This is the SEC who has athletic 300 pound defensive tackles.

And Collins is easily our most talented lineman for next year. I highly doubt he would be any worse than another guy opposite of Faulk next year. He is a complete monster and should get started early. Move Hurst over and start him at RT. Before you start with the "hes too young" crap keep in mind the bowl team we're playing started TWO freshmen at tackle this year and played well. Also Tennessee started a freshman at tackle (Sometimes 2) and over the course of the season they played well. It's not impossible to play at a good level on the OL as a freshman if you're THAT talented and have the size. Which Collins possesses both of.

Way off base there IMO. I'd take Ridley over CS any day of the week. Not as powerful, but quicker to the hole, better vision and much better lateral movement and can actually bounce to the outside every once in a while.

thunder, no offense, but you are really off.

I have watched Collins play, but it seems you rely solely on star ratings. Also, olineman are the slowest growers and with the experienced guys in front of him, he will likely NOT start.

your blanket basis for success being 300+ shows your lack of insight as well. Todd McClure would also agree......

Not flaming you, but you are not as knowledgeable as you think you are.
