Does putting a rope on the ground around you when you sleep really stop snakes from coming near you?

I have heard that before but have always assumed it was a myth.

We had some idiots at basic that sprinkled foot powder around their sleeping bags to deter snakes.

I loved the scene in TG when Maddie fell down the mine shaft and Rooster charged down and shot all those frickin snakes.

My True Grit question is did Betty really have a lawyer? The V.O. sounded like some typical guy. She knew about law too.

Right, but that could have easily been a person she made up and a letter she wrote. She did know a lot about the law. And the guys voice that read sounded like your archetypal man. And a little like JK Simmons. Don't quote me on that.

Yeah, Daggett I think. Read the book. Quick read and better than either movie.

It was definitely JK Simmons. I think he has been in just about all the Coen Brothers movies.
