Sitting in doctors office watching it now. Don't watch very often but it seems like drew is disinterested in hosting. Doesn't act like he really wants to be out there. Anybody else notice this.

I'm sure he'd much rather be on the sidelines commentating for a soccer game to be honest.

It's pretty well known that Drew is a huge huge soccer fan now, and actually owns part of the Seattle team. I'm sure if he looks disinterested in hosting the price is right, it's because there are other things he'd rather be doing. I was kind of being a smartass and kind of serious with my first comment.

Gotcha. Just thought you were being all smartass lol. I didn't know about the soccer deal. That may explain it. Like I said, I don't watch very often but when I do, he doesn't come across to me as enjoying it at all.

I thought Carey was an awful pick to replace Barker, and any time I've ever seen an episode of tPiR on TV, it proves how right I was. He is terrible.

When they 1st picked him I thought it would be good, but after watching, not so much.

I get the same impression. He doesn't have the enthusiasm Barker had. No one can replace Bob but come on.... I mean, "COME ON DOWN!!!!"

You guys don't know what you're talking about. First, no one can emulate Bob Barker. Second Drew is hosting his own way and revealing his personality. Third, there is some pretty entertaining stuff he says if you watch it and pick up on it. It is subtle yet funny. Finally, Cleveland Rocks.

He is horrible.

Of course he would rather be doing something else. Going from a tv show that paid you 800k per episode to hosting the price is right has to be a huge hit to the ego.

He is no Bob Barker. Not even close. Sometimes he looks miserable up there whereas Bob always looked like he was having fun. Of course Bob had the added incentive of nailing the Barker's Beauties and racking up more sexual harassment claims than any 10 men combined.

Exactly. It's like is just constantly mailing it in and couldn't give two shits about the show. Some call it "he's doing it his own way." Well no shite. It's just an absolutely horrible way to do it, and it actually sucks the fun out of something that should be lots of fun.

Actually he said he turned them down at first and second but then the producers wanted to pay him so much that he couldn't say no.

He is making good money but it is still about half what he made in his last season of Drew.

I liked the Drew Carey show and What's my Line but I'll admit, it's hard to watch him on Price is Right.

You guys need to read this long article in Esquire about the secret story behind the perfect bid. Drew looked that way for a reason.

Drew Carey is a great American.

I've read that (or something similar I believe) before. And it doesn't matter anyway...Drew couldn't even feign enthusiasm. It even says in that article that he was like "frick it, it will never air...frick that guy."

And that one instance is beside the point anyway. Just turn on the show on any random morning, and he's bad. He may be a great American, but he's a shitty TV show host (and I'll go ahead and include Whose Line in that group as well, because he's horrible on that too...even worse than Colin Mockry or whatever his name is).

Um, right, because he suspected fraud.

Yeah, I've never really watched him on tPIR, so I'm not defending his day to day performance on there.

This however:

Is lunacy on both counts.

Good article. If it's true that TPIR kept using the same products over and over again, then they have no one to blame but themselves for someone finally figuring out their patterns.
