Just had a tall young 3 point come within 4 feet of my ladder. He ran off two does.

Yes. No problems so far other than my generator dying and having to spent the last two nights in my truck. Nothing missing or tampered with and no sign of GJ or any other wildlife guys.

Getting frustrated. 5 doe crossed in front of me I could have killed any one of them. Waiting for a buck to cross but it's not looking to good.

Just had a 5 pass than an 8. Both smaller than I wanted. My trigger finger is getting itchy.

I expected more from the In Stand thread today. Maybe the afternoon hunt will be better.

Saw several bucks moving this morning and I'm back at it again in the same stand. I used the border crossing VS-1 cover scent and had three bucks follow my exact trail and stop to check out the places I rubbed it on trees(its like stick deodorant). Its my first time using it but it appears to be good stuff.

At the camp somewhere between Raymondville & Port Mansfield, TX
50 degrees
AR-15 .223 and a 20 gauge over & under
Camp truck (hunting from the roof-mounted bench)

Took the dogs out this morning and killed 5 quail and caught a 6' indigo snake. Going to kill some javelina this afternoon while my brothers hunt white tail and Nilgai. Tomorrow: redfish & trout.

Only hunting I'll probably do for a year. The whole family drove here from Louisiana for our Christmas vacation. My dad comes out here monthly to hunt quail and work the dogs but we never make time. I will certainly be coming back. Great fishing in the bay and limitless javelina and hogs. I have no desire to shoot white tail or Nilgai but I'm sure everyone else is having fun with them.
