For all you star gazers, there was a two star wide receiver out of Destrehan who did not get a sniff by LSU. Instead we took two of his teammates JJ and Timothy Molton(What happened to him?). Turns out we probably made a mistake as he is 295 yards away from breaking the NCAA All Purpose Yards record.

Damaris Johnson, who was made to play at a school like Tulsa and would never put up numbers like that in a major conference

Well I am pretty sure he would compete in the SEC. Against Notre Dame this year he returned a punt for a touchdown and caught another, and has produced against top 25 teams in the past. I remember people were saying that the staff should have recruited him when he was coming out. He sure as hell would have done more than Molton.

OBUDan, I can see how you get all your post counts now. By bringing meaningful insight...or not.

As opposed to creating an obvious guessing game about a kid that plays at Tulsa?

On Scout he was a 2 star, not rated Wide Receiver. So i guess rivals was more accurate on DJ.

Unfortunately we can't take them all.

That being said, you could probably cut his numbers in half in the SEC.

It was a fun fact and I am sure that more than half of the people on the board wouldn't have guessed it. But the point is you bring nothing to this post. So why post? Oh yeah, because you are a douche.

He would have been Ron Brooks or R.J. Jackson at LSU. Just saying.

There was a thread about Damaris like a month ago.

The people who post here are quite aware of who he is... this isn't exactly some super obscure kid.

If you had brought up some actual sleeper (since Damaris wasn't one) that landed at a non D1 school and was positioning himself to be drafted or something, that would have been fun.

I bet there's at least 50 people who post here who know who Damaris Johnson is.

I wouldn't go that far, he caught over 100 yards against Houston, a touchdown against Boise and was held to 20 yards against Oklahoma all top 25 teams at the time.

He would be at least our No. 3 receiver over Sheppard if he were on the team this year.

There are more than 50 people on this board, and furthermore I am calling attention to the fact that he might be about to break the NCAA all purpose yards record which is quite an achievement for a 2 star receiver from our backyard.

What the hells wrong with Ron Brooks. Every time a big special teams play is made its Brooks.

Actually, Johnson was a much talked about recruit in '08.

But resorting to name calling will score at least SOME credibility.

Timothy Molton(What happened to him?)

transfered to La Tech. Coach Dykes had him running the wildcat and he was looking sharp as a receiver. He then fricked his other knee up, though not nearly as bad as the knee he fricked up at LSU.

There are tons of guys who put up big time stats who wouldn't sniff the field for LSU

I don't disagree with that notion, however I believe DJ would be on the field, at least as a Kick Returner if not as a starting wide receiver.

Fail. DJ was not a WR. Also, not sure about your version of "sniff" but LSU definitely checked him out many times.

It helps when the facts are reasonably accurate, unless you were shooting for a trick - trick question.
