I hate to placed in a position to defend Crowton - however, he has been the OC for four years, 1 SEC and 1 BCS championship and 39 victories, just while at LSU. Tepper's success was not "as robust", to put it politely.
(And I still like Tepper as a LB coach - just not anything to do with a defensive scheme).

Les plus Tepper plus Crowton would be money. We would be so confused we would confuse our opponent and plow our way to an undefeated season and the BCS NC game.

The guy is 65 yrs old and has made some serious money in the coaching business...If he can't pay his rent next month shame on him.

His time at LSU was absolutely unforgivable for LSU fans.
But he is still considered by coaches to be the top LB coach/teacher.

With this latest firing, I would think the value of the book has seriously declined...
Maybe he can go out & find a younger wife like Curley Hallman, because he certainly won't make any Hall of Fame lists...
