I am and have been a charcoal guy for many years and have little experience cooking with propane.
I cooked baby backs on my wifes propane pit last night for the first time.Turned out pretty good, but obviously lacked that smoked flavor.
Cut slabs in half. Dry rubbed (tony's, onion powder, garlic powder, paprika, etc...) refrigerated for 6 hours. Got them to room temperature, put on pit, indirect heat at 300 degrees for 1 hour. Wrapped them in foil with apple juice and cheap beer. Cooked on indirect heat for 1 hour at 400 degrees. Removed foil added hememade sauce for 15 min indirect.
Not as good as ribs on my smoker or charcoal pit, put pretty good. Kids and wife said they were much better (they don't like smoke). All in all I'll do them this way again. Much faster proccess and much jucier than I get them on charcoal.

get you a little metal tray at Academy's or ?? and put some "water soaked wood chips" in it for smoke.

Not sure.. I just did one for LSU-Auburn..just got through, when a storm w. 5o miles + winds came thru.
Cracked our Tailgating flag pole, took out power at the house and even at the SMU stadium 3 blks away. They had a 3 1/2 hrs delay in their game.
We had to go to a Bar to watch the game.
..used a Cajun Microwave this time
