I am looking to get into the First person shooter type games. I have a playstation 3. I am looking for something to get my feet wet with without having to play on line and get destroyed by others. I am looking at something simple just to get the hang of it at first. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Everyone is playing Call of Duty: Black Ops nowadays. Luckily for you there is an offline combat training mode where you can play the AI to ge the hang of things. Once you get comfortable there you could switch to online play. I heard Da Clan was looking for some newbies.

Single Player = Resistance 1 and 2

Awesome single player games and pretty good multiplayer. Third comes out next year.

Single Player = Killzone 2, 2nd best looking game on PS3, really sharp. Very slow gameplay. Third comes out next year.

BO already been mentioned.

well Socom is third person, and has a hardcore fan base going back to the days of socom 1 (ps2.)
