I ran into an aggie on Chimes St. about an hour ago, young kid that I looked at for a second and told him words that made him laugh. Most people don't know that we are aggies too.

Any tragedy that cost people some lives should be off limits in shite talking. In the end It is a football game. It was wrong to post about the bonfire tragedy as it would be wrong to post about Katrina. Even though both of our fanbases have some incompetent trashy idiots, most of us are decent people. That being said. GEAUX TIGERS

I am a proud graduate of Louisana State University and Agriclutural and Mechanical College. A F'in aggie that majored in Poli Sci., and a man that has joked with a few of you over the years a long time ago. That someone that may or may not be associated with my school learned how to type is not a good thing. The children that died that night were people on the cusp of life. They had parents, siblings, relatives that right now have a hole in thier lives because of that night. Years ago I joked with a cadet and his parents about really wanting a pair of the boots that your kin wear, and I meant it. Those things are some bad-assed ropers

I know it sounds silly, but Bonfire was one of the coolest things a student could ever be apart of. I was in the band my fish year, so my opportunities to participate in cut and stack were limited. It fell my junior year. I remember it like it was yesterday. I'm not trying to get sappy, or what have you but Bonfire really is/was special to a lot of people. I think a lot of you could appreciate standing around a 70' fire on a late November night with about 125,000 of your friends to celebrate an upcoming football game against a school that you truly despise. Thanks to the OP for apologizing. Unfortunately anonymous message boards can sometimes bring out the worst in people. Gig 'em, and I'm really looking forward to the game.

Man Aggie jokes and ethnic joke are one thing, but to make fun of an incident that killed 12 students is just going to far. I hope admin bands him for life on Texags and TD.

Agreed--- hurricanes, and bonfire talk is NOT allowed. Anyone doing so should be banned for life. It's not amusing

I didn't see the Bonfire post but I appreciate this thread and y'all's posts.

The Bonfire incident hits home with a bunch of us. It's been over 10 years but it still hits hard when we remember.

Participating in Bonfire was some of the rawest life experience you could get. It was a little disgusting at times, dirty all the time, and left you exhausted. It was some serious man's work. I loved it and I miss it.

Anyway, thank y'all for the show of class/compassion.

No need to apologize for some other jackass, but thanks for the thought.

My skin has gotten a little thicker in the last 11 years, and I don't expect anyone else to understand or care about our traditions, but it always surprises when someone thinks they're being clever by trying to make a funny haw haw about something that involved young people dying. I'm sure they're a blast at parties.
