He had an awesome year with a fifth year senior, then sucked crowton style the following year. I know he has done some good things in his career, but so did crowton. He's not even a qb coach right now. He coaches rbs. For the people in love with him, why is he the best available option? I just don't see it.

So he asks what other people see in him and you tell him to find out himself.

Did he call plays and coach qbs as a head coach at ecu? Looks like he was the running back coach before he was oc and hc.

He was great with a fifth year sr. Crowton was was great with a fifth year sr as well. Logan followed his buddy to Tampa to coach running backs. Anyone know why he wasn't coveted as a qb coach anywhere else?

Appreciate any real discussion

He coached David Garrard, Jeff Blake, and Matt Ryan.

He took a dormant ECU program and made it respectable. He's generally considered the brains behind the success of Jagodzinski at Boston College, so much so that it got Jags an OC gig with Tampa Bay and they quickly fired him because they realized it was actually Logan doing the leg work all along.

The guy is a great coach.

Show me any coach that has a flawless record and has never had a bad year. Talent wins most games and would never be an issue at LSU.

Was he actually the qb coach and playcaller at ecu? If not who was? I've read his bio and know all the guys he's been around. Perhaps his best work after Ryan was in europe. I know he was coaching qbs then. I don't know how active he was as a playcaller at ecu.

Reading bios is great, but crowtons bio would read....coached record setting la tech qb, coached record setting bears offense, coached #1 offense at byu, coached Dennis Dixon at Oregon, and coached record setting national championship offense at LSU.

I want to see what else is out there that people might know other than what's on his bio.

I barely knew who jeff Blake was in college and I didn't know who garrard was until the pros.

I was drinking the logan koolaid last year when it was rumored he may come. But the more I've learned, the more I question.

He coached at BC for 2 years. 1 year with Ryan where they were good. 1 year without where they were bad. Jagodziski was fired after 2 years because he interviewed for a head coaching job in the NFL after BC's AD told him not to. So the OC gig was not his intention. If they felt Logan was the real brains then they would have hired him to be the OC.

He has had some success and some failures. He never really did anything great at ECU but was a decent head coach. I would not call him great.

not to be underrated is the fact that he coached two QBs to NFL Europe Offensive Player of the Year Awards while in Germany.

And turned him into a top 10 pick...

Right, and Jags got the interview because of his reputation at BC. He was hired at Tampa to be OC and they found out he had never called plays, so they canned him and kept Logan in his capacity. I don't think it's a stretch to suggest they realized Jags wasn't who they thought he was upon hiring him...

Besides be the winningest coach in school history, I agree, he didn't do much of anything there.

He's recognized for developing Blake, Garrard and Ryan.

Not really. He nearly wrecked Dennis Dixon... Dixon took off after Crowton left.

Crowton ran some nice offenses, but he doesn't have three solid NFL QBs on his resume. Hell he doesn't have one.

Well that's reason number 1 why Logan shouldn't be hired, right?

It seems all that you learned was that he coached at Boston College when they had a rough year after they lost Matt Ryan and most of their offense?

Bios can be taken out of context which is why I posted posted the stuff on crowton. Did crowton not coach Dixon while he was at Oregon. I know what really went on there.

I'm not interested in reading the same stuff I can read on wikipedia.

So did he call plays as a head coach? Links to some of his offenses #'s. I'm not interested in the name calling and all that. I'd rather discuss the stuff some of you may know that isn't the first stuff that pops up on google.

Matt Ryan was already a good QB when Logan got there. There was little turning to do.

Yeah he won more games than anyone in ECU history. He was also there longer than anyone in ECU history. As far as winning % goes he is 5th. Also, good coaches are usually lured away from places like ECU.

My point was that he is not special and not even consistent. Yeah every coach has some down seasons, but he has had too many.

Wrong. Coach Spaz wanted to bring in his old friend gary tranquil as OC. Neither really saw eye to eye(Spaz and logan) Logan was also looking for a pay raise. The AD
wouldn't budge.

Yeah, he basically fixed the tools of what Tom o brien didn't teach.( my dads a BC alum, so if your wondering how I know all this)
