we have seen 2 teams hit the inside move on him near the goal line.

I would bet on #7 though.

I wouldn't gameplan to avoid him either, but just don't make a mistake, or throw that way late.

It's what I'd expect him to say and to believe. He has to be prepared to take whatever the defense gives him.

Several teams have attacked PP. Alabama went his way a lot.

Lets hope PP can regain the hype and form he had at the beginning of the season

mcelroy didnt avoid peterson. He threw some nice passes where only his receiver could catch it. He had a good amount of success throwing at peterson

Teams will attack the single coverage.

When the defense is designed to allow PP man to man coverage and the safeties are shaded over to protect the other CB then you have to attack the man to man coverage.

That being said, I wouldn't say that giving up a few receptions to Julio Jones and making tackles as soon as the ball is caught to minimize the damage getting beat.

He has probably been coached to not overplay the ball and give up the big play. In man to man coverage you will give up some completions, the object is to make sure tackles and minimize the damage.

The slants were given up in all cases because Peterson was not playing inside technique. With Julio, a perfectly thrown ball will beat you on both types of routes in the endzone, so it's pretty much pick your poison. We chose to defend the fade.

Getting beat on a slant is not a slight on any corner. Patrick Peterson is the real deal no hype needed.

he had some success but i thought peterson and the rest of the secondary played pretty well.julio had 10 catches but for only 89 yards(less than 9 yards per catch)and i know peterson was not on him for every play,he had single coverage and to me thats not bad vs a receiver as good as julio.and also as you said mcelroy threw some nice passes.
